DESCRIPTION:     In remembrance of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declar
 ation of Independence\, the Grace \nUnited Methodist Church’s Music Mini
 stry will be presenting a Heritage Concert on Sunday\, September 20th at 1
 :00 p.m. in the sanctuary at 219 W. Mulberry St. Kokomo\, IN  featuring th
 e Altar Choir\, the Handbell Choir and the Austin Pipe Organ.\n    The Alt
 ar Choir will present selections such as “The Battle Hymn of the Republi
 c”\, and “If My People Will Pray” as well as a Charles Wesley Hymn a
 nd other hymns with the congregation joining.\n     America the Beautiful\
 , God of our Fathers and Fantasia on Azmon ( a Charles Wesley Hymn) will b
 e offered by the Handbell Choir.\n     The pipe organ portion of the progr
 am will feature music by American composers such as Aaron Copland\, Thomas
  Ryder\, Virgil Fox\, as well as J.S. Bach.  \n     This will be a unique 
 concert with much variety as we take time to honor both our country’s bi
 rth\, the significant history of Methodism in the spread of the Gospel of 
 Jesus Christ in the New World and also the special ministry of Grace UM Ch
 urch\, the oldest church in Kokomo. \n
